Standard Time Optimiser Confidence Score

Introduction

Below details the methodology for calculating a confidence score for various tasks within an organisation. The confidence score is an integral metric.

It is composed of three distinct facets: Task Coverage Confidence, People Confidence, and Frequency Confidence.

Methodology:

Task Coverage Confidence

  • Purpose: Task Coverage Confidence aims to measure the degree of engagement of staff members in a particular task relative to their overall workload.

  • Significance: This metric reflects how much of their workday or work efforts are allocated to a specific task. This is crucial for understanding the focus and attention given to a task. A higher task coverage confidence suggests that a staff member or team is heavily invested in the task, implying its priority and significance.

A high confidence suggests that ActiveOps have enough data to calculate the standard time given the range of different tasks that the person completes.

People Confidence

  • Purpose: People Confidence evaluates the level of team involvement in a task, reflecting the number of different individuals contributing to it.

  • Significance: This metric is derived from the number of individuals contributing to a task. It is indicative of collaborative effort and resource distribution.

A higher number of participants results in higher people confidence, demonstrating diverse inputs and collaborative efforts in task completion.

Frequency Confidence

  • Purpose: Frequency Confidence assesses how regularly and consistently staff members complete a significant number of items/units (3 or more) over a defined period, in this case, 20 days.

  • Significance: This metric is instrumental in understanding the regularity and consistency with which a task is addressed. Regular engagement on a task, especially when it involves completing a significant number of units, indicates its ongoing relevance and the staff's commitment to its completion.

The higher the frequency confidence, the more consistent and engaged the staff is with the task.

Final Confidence

  • Overall Confidence Calculation: The overall confidence score is calculated by considering the lowest value among the three confidences. This approach ensures that any weaknesses in one area significantly influence the overall assessment.

Conclusion

The confidence score system is designed to provide a multifaceted and detailed understanding of task performance within an organisation. It aids in identifying areas for improvement, optimising resource allocation, and enhancing team collaboration. Focusing on engagement, team involvement, and consistency of task completion, offers valuable insights deriving the confidence for optimised standard time.
